The Chief of GI will assume the leadership of full and part-time physicians, mid-level providers, and technical support. The position includes clinical, administrative, and research duties. The approximate time assigned in each area as of the date of this statement is listed below. This may change over time depending on the needs of the Service and the Medical Center. The time allotment is consistent with information contained in the physician mapping tool that is used to follow physician duties and productivity. Clinical: 80% Administrative: 10% Research: 10%.

Pay: Up to $400k p/year, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50–55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting, VA contributes 16.6% to pension) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
