The Department of Neurology at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, ranked the No. 1 hospital in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and the No. 2 hospital in Texas by U.S. News and World Report, is seeking an academic Stroke Neurologist to join UT Southwestern's Robert D. Rogers Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our Stroke Center is certified by the Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. The designation recognizes our team's unique offering that provides patients experiencing a stroke with the best possible chance of recovery. UTSW is recognized for offering an excellent level of expertise in rapidly diagnosing strokes and providing effective treatment options based on the latest research and the highest standards of care.
The Department also has a robust departmental Faculty Development Program consisting of a didactic series on how to be successful in academics and a dedicated mentorship program provided by senior faculty members for each junior member; each faculty member is assigned a mentor.
The successful candidate should also have a strong interest in global health and healthcare disparities. This candidate will add to the clinical, educational, and research objectives of growing and expanding this area.
Qualifications:
- Possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
- Board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for adult or child neurology
- Ability to demonstrate excellence in clinical medicine, interpersonal interactions, communication, teamwork skills and be a motivated self-starter
- Faculty members are expected to participate in academic and clinical research activities
