About the Role
Join our team as a Principal UI/UX Designer and help us build a revolutionary new music discovery platform. This role offers a unique chance to be part of the founding team, guided by experienced leaders with a proven track record in launching and scaling products. You'll be instrumental in making crucial decisions that will set the course for our platform's success. Our product is modern, challenging, and ambitious, delivering a first-class, highly engaging user experience that integrates content delivery, audio playback, machine learning, and recommendation systems. What You Will Do
- Operate in a fast-paced, startup-like environment to launch a new business within Harman.
- Work with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.
- Lead the design of intuitive and visually compelling user interfaces.
- Make critical early-stage design decisions to set the stage for long-term success.
- Serve as an in-house authority on UI/UX design principles and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and engaging user experience.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for the platform.
- Stay up to date with the latest design trends and technologies to ensure our product remains cutting-edge.
What You Need
- Experience: 10+ years in UI/UX design.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership experience in a design role, with the ability to mentor and guide other designers.
- Design Skills: Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in creating visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces.
- Tools: Proficient with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
- User Research: Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Creativity: Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- You have coding experience as it relates to UI implementation.
What Makes You Eligible
- Be willing to work remotely full-time with occasional trips into the office location required (this could be on 24-hour notice).
- Be willing to be available for meetings and team interaction during typical continental US business hours.
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
