PURPOSE
This role will build and manage a world-class Metrology Engineering team, comprised of Engineers and Engineering Technicians, able to support complex automated wafer characterization and defect identification in FormFactor's Livermore wafer fab. Effective team management and technical prowess will enable the right candidate to succeed and effectively contribute to FormFactor expansion in terms of quality, performance and timeliness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and manage a world-class Metrology Engineering team, comprising of Engineers and Engineering Technicians, able to support complex automated wafer characterization and defect identification in FormFactor's Livermore wafer fab.
- Set metrology strategy, team goals, and manage resource allocation to control multiple advanced tools, reporting on module performance and metrics.
- Support production needs with in-line wafer defect detection and a deep interaction with the Process Engineering and the Process Integration teams to ensure accurate and timely disposition.
- Stay updated with tool and technology advancements, to support increasingly challenging technical demands.
- Support the development of smart ways to automate defect recognition, leveraging internal expertise and using both in-house-developed and external software tools.
- Support fab capacity expansions, cleanroom changes and protocol enhancements.
- Support and champion a zero-escape quality approach throughout the fab.
- Gain understanding of downstream processing and assembly needs and manage team and tools in the best possible way to support.
- Maintain an organized system to keep track of product mix complexity for what it relates to metrology requirements.
- Uphold FormFactor core values and lead by example for the team.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- 10 years of experience with a M.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical engineering, or equivalent discipline.
- Solid previous hands-on metrology experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Previous experience managing a team of Engineers.
- Ability to work across functions and establish cooperative relationships within the company.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both toward direct reports and toward upper management.
- Ability to work at the intersection between quality and timing with a diversified product mix.
- Understanding of SPC, and ability to work with data analysis.
The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $163,400 and $214,410. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands.
