Position summary: JMT is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in the Washington, DC area for an exciting opportunity to work with the federal government. The position provides electrical engineering assistance for design and construction projects using knowledge of design principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute.
The annual salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00.
Essential skills and responsibilities:
- Experience providing professional electrical engineering consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects.
- Experience performing as a consultant in the establishment of design standards and criteria for construction projects.
- Experience providing on-site field survey measurements and verification.
- Experience preparing electrical load calculations.
- Experience with computer-assisted design software such as Revit and Sketch Up.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Required Experience:
- US Government Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- 10 years' experience as Electrical Engineer in commercial/government office building design and construction.
Preferred Experience:
- US Government Top Secret security clearance.
- Professional Engineer (PE).
- Experience working with governmental agencies at the federal, city, county, and state levels.
- 20 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer in commercial/government office building design and construction.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking, and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
