The Endeavor Health Medical Group (EHMG) governance and senior operations leadership team has been established to provide oversight of system-level strategy and practice standards across the north and south service areas, inclusive of the institutes and ambulatory clinical service lines, medical group quality, patient experience and care model design initiatives.
The EHMG Medical Director, Ambulatory Quality will contribute to the organization's mission to help everyone in our communities be their best through care delivery that is safe, seamless and personal. The Medical Director, Ambulatory Quality is responsible for strategic quality implementation and operationalizing quality initiatives aimed at improving clinical outcomes, patient safety and experience and process improvement across Endeavor Health Medical Group. The Medical Director, Ambulatory Quality will also oversee the performance of a local legacy entity and is accountable to the EHMG leadership team to achieve organizational medical group objectives at legacy entity level. In addition, the Medical Director, Ambulatory Quality will work in partnership with the Endeavor Health Physician Partners Clinically Integrated Network leadership team to ensure that value-based performance metrics and goals are achieved for the lives cared for within the system-employed medical group. This role will connect to the system ambulatory quality physician leadership, as well as the EHMG Senior Operations Leadership team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
QUALITY, STEWARDSHIP AND EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENT:
Leads the implementation and execution of quality, safety, and patient experience, and works to operationalize programs aimed at achieving clinical excellence and providing a differentiated experience for front-line clinicians aligned with the goal to make EHMG the best place to practice. Oversees and ensures that safe and reliable processes are embedded into the delivery of healthcare by the NS-EEH medical group and advances a culture that values patient safety, continuous learning and improving patient outcomes in a manner that is equitable for all patients. Works collaboratively with leadership of the clinical institutes and ambulatory service lines to support initiatives aimed at standardizing care delivery, improving clinical outcomes and patient and clinician experience and engagement. Together with the Ambulatory Quality Leadership team across the EHMG and EHPP CIN, monitors and oversees the physician dissemination of all reports, information summaries, relevant publications, and clinical, utilization, and financial data related to these activities. In partnership with the Ambulatory Quality Leadership Team, leads the planning, development, and implementation of strategies for improving health outcomes, patient experience, quality care delivery and cost containment. Engage with key stakeholders to implement a physician and operational engagement strategy that advances physician leadership and participation in ongoing improvement efforts. Work with key acute care leaders to ensure that patient care transitions and care issues that cross the practice and acute care settings are well-coordinated. Supports Stewardship initiatives in partnership with practicing physicians and relevant subject matter experts (inclusive of imaging, pharmacy and safe prescribing, as well as laboratory and appropriate test ordering). Partners with system patient experience leadership to ensure patient experience of care delivery that is anchored in EHMG Mission, Vision and Values. Partners with acute care CMOs, system-medical group physician leaders and the Primary Care POD Leaders to ensure alignment and implementation of key initiatives that impact population health performance. Engages and maintains relationships with the acute care CMOs and CIN physician leaders. Frequently interface with governance boards at the system and regional level to provide presentations when needed and serve as a resource and subject matter expert regarding Quality and Performance Improvement. In conjunction with the Board Quality Committees, establish quality and safety goals, practices and policies for care across the continuum. Facilitates the review of quality and efficiency metrics to be applied to physicians and leads the development of recommended performance thresholds for incentive-based payments based on selected metrics. Leads and facilitates Clinical Management Forums to foster collaboration between participating physicians within the region, entity, and across the CIN.
PATIENT SAFETY AND RISK MANAGEMENT:
Provide leadership in developing and executing patient safety and risk management strategies across EHMG. Actively work to maintain a culture of safety and high reliability, and to ensure that all members of the health care team (including the patient and family) feel that their voices are heard. Design, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of patient safety initiatives and risk management programs for EHMG. Oversee the investigation of adverse events and near misses, support the peer review process, and utilize patient safety tools (inclusive of root cause analysis) to develop action plans to prevent recurrence. In conjunction with clinical, operational and educational leaders, support the implementation of educational programs in quality and patient safety.
CLINICAL INFORMATICS:
In conjunction with the NS regional CMIOs, support the implementation of one EMR platform across EHMG Medical Group in a manner that prioritizes usability for front-line clinicians and seeks to reduce clinician burnout, improve intrinsic motivation and overall joy in work.

Qualifications:
- Member of the professional staff at an entity hospital within Endeavor Health
- Deep knowledge of ambulatory quality, patient safety, population health, and managed care
- Understanding of regulatory bodies and statutes that cover value-based care
Minimum Education Level:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of residency training and board certification and maintenance of board certification in the individual's specialty area.
Minimum Licensure Requirements:
- Must have an unrestricted medical license for the state of Illinois.
- Must be a member of the professional staff at an entity of Endeavor Health.
Minimum Certification Requirements:
- Certification in quality (IHI, LEAN/Six Sigma Certification and/or similar training), patient safety (CPPS), risk management (CPHRM) highly preferred.
Minimum Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of post-residency clinical practice.
- At least 2 years of experience in patient safety, risk management or quality improvement with escalating leadership responsibilities across the acute care health setting.

- Learns and maneuver multiple databases to glean insights and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Leads and directs Care Transformation Managers and others in accordance with strategic plans of the organization.
The expected number of direct reports is TBD and a dozen or more indirect resources. This includes Care Transformation Managers.
