Pediatric Critical Care Hospitalists
Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and the Division of Critical Care Medicine are seeking pediatric hospitalists on the non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator track at the rank of Instructor for the Lefkofsky Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Lurie Children's provides superior pediatric care in a setting that offers the latest benefits and innovations in medical technology, research and family-friendly design. With 1,245 pediatric specialists focusing on 70 specialties in multiple locations, Lurie Children's is the largest pediatric specialty provider in the region.
Pediatric Critical Care Hospitalists will be appointed in the Division of Critical Care Medicine. Clinical responsibilities include coverage of the Pediatric ICU in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of Intensivists, Critical Care Fellows, Advanced Practice Nurses, Pharmacists, Respiratory Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, Case Managers, and Nutritionists. In addition, team members staff the Rapid Response Team and communicate with the Transport Team as medical control for incoming high-acuity transfers. In the Division of Critical Care Medicine, there are numerous opportunities to participate and lead quality improvement, education, and scholarly projects. These positions also offer opportunities to participate in the educational curricula for pediatric residents and medical students.
We have designed a robust onboarding program in the Critical Care Hospitalist Team that incorporates simulations, didactics, clinical shadowing, and case reviews. We welcome applicants interested in careers in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Academic Hospital Medicine, as well as other Pediatric Subspecialties. The exposure to the ICU environment, the team, and the multidisciplinary is an experience which provides the opportunity to develop crucial rapport with our team - particularly important for those intent on being in Chicago for additional training or finding a rewarding career and role in the city of Chicago.
Academic rank will be commensurate with experience. Full-time, part-time, and nocturnist positions can be considered. The minimum time of commitment for this role is 2 years.
