Position Summary
The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center affiliated with the Children's Hospital of New Mexico is seeking 2 full or part-time Pediatric Cardiologists at the level of Assistant/Associate or Full Professor in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. Salary, level, and track will be commensurate with training and experience. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology and with potential for a career in academic medicine. A good balance of clinical and teaching experience awaits the successful candidate in this tertiary care pediatric practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for applicants with interest in the Southwest region of the United States. We are looking for candidates who are dedicated to providing excellence in clinical service and teaching. There are opportunities for participation in clinical research. Applicants with transesophageal and fetal echocardiographic skills are also desired but not required. Candidates with a focus on outpatient cardiology and outreach are encouraged to apply. Excellent mentoring is available for early and mid-career applicants by senior Cardiologists and other well-established Pediatric Subspecialists.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology by time of hire.
- Able to obtain medical licensures in the state of New Mexico.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated excellence as a general clinical pediatric cardiologist in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
- Record of Teaching Experience.
- Experience in transesophageal and fetal echocardiogram.
- Experience providing care in an outpatient cardiology and outreach setting.
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
