POSITION SUMMARY:
PickleRage is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and motivated General Manager to lead our indoor pickleball club chain to new heights. As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of club operations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, and driving the growth and success of our facility. This position will be held at our Glen Burnie, MD location.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND OUTCOMES:
To lead club operations and the execution of the location’s business plan, and to serve as a training resource for future general managers and franchisees for the growing PickleRage system.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operational Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations including staff supervision, facility maintenance, and scheduling of events and activities.
- Customer Service: Create a welcoming and customer-focused environment for members and guests. Address inquiries, resolve concerns, and ensure exceptional member experiences.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-effective strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
- Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop and execute promotional strategies, including membership drives, events, and social media campaigns.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including coaches, pros, and front-line personnel, to ensure a high level of service and professionalism.
- Event Planning: Organize and oversee pickleball tournaments, leagues, clinics, and social events to engage members and attract new players.
- Facility Maintenance: Ensure the club's facilities and equipment are well-maintained and in excellent condition.
- Community Engagement: Foster relationships within the pickleball community, local businesses, and organizations to promote the club and the sport.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field; proven industry knowledge acceptable in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of General Management experience, preferably in the sports and recreation industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- High level of energy and enthusiasm.
- Must know how to operate off a P&L.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of pickleball or willingness to learn about the sport.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Onsite at our PickleRage facility in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Involves performing in a professional, sports-centric environment that includes court play, retain, and member services.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to actively engage members while involved in play. Occasional physical activity maintaining the facility.
POSITIONS SUPERVISED:
Members services, Training, Retail Sales, Maintenance, and Janitorial.
