Job Description
As Quality and Automation Engineer you will be responsible for building the automation capability for McDonald’s global mobile app. You will be in charge to sign off a build for detailed regression based on the automated health checks run on existing and new unit/component/integration tests. The role is key to ensure the builds are not regressing the core functionality of the app and the rollback strategy is automated and keeps the app ready for prod gating criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for building & adopting an efficient framework for test automation and CI/CD.
- Create component level heatmaps with dev squads to run build health tests.
- Drive testing automation initiatives that directly impact defect leakage for all markets.
- Develop and evolve standardized test case creation tool from architecture diagrams.
- Be proficient at agile continuous delivery, DevOps and TDD/BDD and champion the culture, processes, and tools required to maintain automation up & running.
- Can see the bigger picture and be a partner to product management, engineering, and the digital team.
- Work with the Global Architecture and Engineering teams to understand the problem to solve which would drive the ROI on automation – faster deployment and testing cycles, easier triage from reporting.
Qualifications:
- Technical project Management or Quality Manager experience in an enterprise global environment.
- 10+ years of combined software development, testing and management experience for improving product quality and maximizing QAE productivity, building test frameworks, tools, or complex engineering projects.
- Experience in mobile app automation with hands on experience in writing test scripts.
- Experienced in recommending best practices to Dev for writing more automation friendly code, for applicable tech stack.
- Experience writing maintainable, performant, and reusable code for CI/CD components.
- Experience with continuous integration systems like Jenkins, GitHub.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, Appium, JavaScript, Typescript, Ruby, or C#.
- Strong understanding of design principles.
- Care deeply about maintaining scalable automation solutions for test automation including, test creation, test reporting.
- Champion testing efficiency and achieve automation for all critical paths for GMA app.
- Can build automation capability for a heterogenous test environment cutting through multiple systems – including but not limited to front end, back end, payment systems, point of sale etc.
- Can automate test report consolidation from Jira/zephyr and postman scripts.
- Has extreme ownership for e2e product quality.
- Can evolve testing standards rule book for GMA.
- Continuously build the repository for a hybrid test framework that is market and environment agnostic.
- Can implement and propose feasibility analysis on tools and solutions to global teams to peek the enterprise need and enable a solution that dev and qa can use at the same time.
