Responsibilities include negotiating claims, responding to discovery requests, preparing for depositions, and making court appearances. Strong research and writing skills, along with effective supervisory and leadership capabilities, are essential for success in this role.
Duties:
- Manage a caseload of approximately 150 workers' compensation cases.
- Write and prepare legal documents, including motions and briefs.
- Negotiate claims and settlements on behalf of clients.
- Respond to discovery requests and prepare for depositions.
- Represent clients in court appearances and hearings.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
- Supervise and provide guidance to legal assistants.
- Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
- Admission to the Georgia Bar and in good standing.
- 0-3 years of experience in workers' compensation law.
- Strong academic credentials and top-quality writing skills.
- Effective supervisory and leadership abilities.
- Excellent organizational, critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Interpersonal skills necessary for effective communication with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.
