Nexxen is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Leader for Production Support to oversee our production Platforms and Support teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing production environments, resolving technical issues, and leading teams to ensure high availability and performance of our systems. This role is critical in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our production operations and involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What You’ll Do:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing production support engineering team.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and provide feedback to team members.
- Ensure the team is trained in the latest technologies and best practices relevant to production support.
Production Support and Incident Management:
- Oversee the resolution of production issues, ensuring timely and effective problem-solving.
- Establish and maintain robust incident management protocols, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews.
- Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Build and maintain Production status for all Platforms across the company.
- Ensure 24/7 support coverage through on-call rotations and incident response planning.
Process Improvement and Automation:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and reliability of production systems.
- Identify opportunities for automation to reduce manual interventions and improve response times.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production support activities.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, QA, and operations, to ensure smooth deployment and operation of production systems.
- Act as a liaison between production support and other departments, facilitating clear and effective communication.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production support performance, issues, and resolutions to senior management.
- Facilitate post-mortem meetings to discuss incidents and develop action plans to prevent recurrence.
Technical Oversight and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in production support and system reliability.
- Lead the evaluation and integration of new tools and technologies to enhance production support capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements in all production support activities.
- Design and implement scalable solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
Technical Expertise:
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS) to ensure scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement cloud-native solutions and leverage services like Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless architectures.
- Oversee the performance, availability, and security of production databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Implement database backup, recovery, and failover strategies.
- Use and manage monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) to ensure the health and performance of production systems.
- Oversee the implementation and management of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo) to ensure efficient and reliable deployment processes.
- Automate testing and deployment processes to reduce manual intervention and minimize downtime.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js for developing automation scripts and tools.
- Experience designing, deploying, and managing microservices architectures using containers and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of API management and integration using tools such as Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Management.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and collaborative development platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
What Will I Bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in production support or a related technical field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven record of accomplishment of managing and leading engineering teams in a production support environment.
- Strong understanding of production support methodologies and best practices.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Shell scripting, Ansible).
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with microservices architecture and container orchestration.
- Proficiency in version control systems and collaborative development workflows.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment.
- Experience in Ad Tech domain is highly preferred.
- Experience working in enterprise level company in Ad Tech / Fin Tech domain.

In support of pay transparency and equity, the minimum and maximum full-time annual base salary for this role in New York is $160,000 - $220,000 at the time of posting. While this is our reasonable expectation this is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
