- REMOTE - If you live over 50 miles from Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL, this role is remote. However, occasional office visits may be required based on business needs, with advance communication for such requests.

We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and talented Director - Financial Systems to oversee Adtalem's financial systems and infrastructure. As a Director - Financial Systems, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing our financial systems to support Adtalem's strategic objectives. The position will identify, design and implement technology and business solutions and oversee change management activities across the Finance organization. The position will partner with Finance and IT departments to formulate long term architectural requirements, drive process improvements and implement change to achieve organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for troubleshooting and solving complex system issues, day-to-day systems management, administration, and technical end user support of all Accounting and Finance systems.
- Implement improvements and enhancements to Accounting and Finance systems.
- Collaborate with IT professionals and other cross functional stakeholders to address technical challenges, resolve system issues, and optimize system performance.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive implementation and maintenance strategy for Accounting and Finance systems in alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices
- Manage a staff of direct reports and direct day-to-day execution of operations and projects.
- Evaluate, refine and reinforce consensus around the vision for building a world-class Finance organization, complete with corresponding structure, processes and technology.
- Serve as a thought leader around requirements and potential future state design for various business processes (such as Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash and Record-to-Report) and shared services team arrangements.
- Manage cross-functional projects to enhance system capabilities, streamline workflows, and improve the accuracy and accessibility of data.
- Partner with internal audit and compliance teams to ensure adherence with SOX and regulatory requirements as they relate to financial systems and data management.
- Build, present and sell business cases to justify new investments required to reach the future state.
- Work with outside consultants and contractors who assist on improvement projects.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA Preferred, CMA Preferred.
- Operations Management/Information Systems Required
- 5+ years years of experience supporting accounting and finance systems Required
- 7+ years years of broad Finance and Accounting experience Required
- 7+ years years in education, services, high-growth, fast-paced, dynamic industries Required
- Experience implementing and using large scale financial systems (e.g. Workday, SAP, Lawson, Cognos) and data warehouses
- Demonstrated success building and/or leading Finance shared services environments
- Experience with SQL and strong Microsoft product skills
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of specific global financial process workstreams and process improvement methodologies (BPR, Six Sigma, Lean)
- Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- Effective at driving projects to achieve planned results and delivered on time
- Intellectual curiosity and the pursuit of continuous improvement
- Able to build trust and quickly establish credibility with all levels of an organization
- Innovative and able to think both analytically and conceptually
- Strong collaborator, negotiator and consensus builder
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $100,172.00 and $181,034.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
