The Role
The Director, Project Management is responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the agency's client portfolio. This role will ensure the portfolio is aligned with the agency's overall business objectives, resources are allocated effectively, and risks are mitigated. The Director will work closely with agency leadership, account teams, and project managers to drive portfolio performance and deliver value to clients. This role will ensure that project management standards and methodologies are followed across the portfolio of work, leading to the successful delivery of client projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Project Management team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Project Management Standards: Establish and maintain project management methodologies, tools, and processes to ensure consistent and efficient project execution.
- Portfolio Performance: Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Resource Allocation: Optimize resource allocation across the portfolio, ensuring projects are staffed appropriately and resources are used efficiently.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess risks across the portfolio, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize potential impact.
- Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of the portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting on financial performance.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and that the portfolio delivers value to their businesses.
- Collaboration: Work closely with agency leadership, account teams, and project managers to ensure alignment and coordination across the portfolio.
- Reporting & Analysis: Develop and maintain portfolio reporting dashboards, providing insights into portfolio performance, trends, and key metrics.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve portfolio management processes, incorporating industry best practices and new technologies.

Qualifications:
- 8+ years of project management experience in a marketing/creative agency or similar environment, with 2 years in a leadership role on a large book of business ($3M+)
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with confidence leading internal teams and communicating with clients.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams with strong strategic thinking, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to establish, document, and refine standardized project management processes that promote efficiency, consistency, and quality.
- Strong negotiation skills to navigate challenging conversations, reach agreements, and protect the agency's interests while maintaining client satisfaction.
- Proactively identifies future trends and opportunities, anticipating potential risks and developing strategies to address them.
- Understands the interconnectedness of projects and portfolios, considering the impact of decisions on the broader organization and its stakeholders.
BASE SALARY RANGE
Our estimated range for this role is $125,000-140,000*

Similarly, we are flexible with the level we are hiring for - they can be mid-senior level. For example, a person may apply for a Project Manager role, and we may assess that their skills are at the Senior Project Manager. Each level has its own compensation range.
