The Corporate Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the company’s assets, personnel, and property. This role involves monitoring and protecting facilities against illegal and inappropriate actions, as well as responding to incidents and emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
Security Monitoring:
- Monitor surveillance systems, alarms, and other security equipment to detect and respond to security breaches or emergencies.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure physical security of the buildings and surrounding areas.
Access Control:
- Manage access control systems, ensuring only authorized personnel are granted entry.
- Verify identification and credentials of employees, visitors, and contractors.
Incident Response:
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including fire, medical, or other critical situations.
- Document and report all security incidents, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
Policy Enforcement:
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all staff and visitors.
Coordination with Law Enforcement:
- Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
Customer Service:
- Provide a visible and approachable presence, assisting employees and visitors with security-related inquiries.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all individuals on company premises.
Education, Experience and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience as a proven Security Officer or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
- Proficiency in using surveillance systems and other security equipment.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- First aid and CPR certification is a plus.
The estimated hourly range for this position is $25.00/hr USD to $35.00/hr USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
