Avidity Biosciences, Inc.'s mission is to profoundly improve people's lives by delivering a new class of RNA therapeutics - Antibody Oligonucleotide Conjugates (AOCs). Utilizing its proprietary AOC platform, Avidity demonstrated the first-ever successful targeted delivery of RNA into muscle and is leading the field with clinical development programs for three rare muscle diseases: myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1), Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD). Avidity is broadening the reach of AOCs with its advancing and expanding pipeline, including programs in cardiology and immunology through internal discovery efforts and key partnerships. The Opportunity
The Director, Competitive Intelligence, will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating Competitive Intelligence (CI) necessary to support strategic decision-making, inform prioritization, and enhance our competitive positioning in the market. They will work closely with other functions to understand CI needs and tailor solutions to different stakeholder groups. This role requires a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, market trends, and competitor activities as well as experience with setting up internal and external capabilities for efficient CI tracking and dissemination.
What You Will Contribute
- Analyze multiple sources of intelligence and crystalize them into well-articulated insights that are delivered to a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders.
- Create a unified view of competitive landscape, threats, and opportunities that is used to inform individual program, new product planning, portfolio-level, and Business Development strategies.
- Coordinate, produce and deliver CI deliverables, including regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly) briefings for different audiences (e.g. Program Teams, Senior Leadership); train end users as required in the utilization of these resources.
- Contribute to ad-hoc CI projects that originate from Program Teams, Senior Leadership, and other Functions.
- Work with Commercial and Medical Affairs stakeholders to prioritize and execute Congress coverage.
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to incorporate relevant CI landscape information into holistic market overviews and insights gathering.
- Select and manage outside vendors to support CI capability.
- Proactively gather feedback and utilize best practices to enhance Avidity’s CI ecosystem.
- Serve as a trusted thought partner for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure all CI materials are archived and accessible through a centralized CI database.
What We Seek
- Bachelors’ degree.
- Minimum 10+ years experience, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 8 years of life sciences industry experience.
- 6 years in a management or leadership role of people or function.
- Broad knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and competitive intelligence; experience in Avidity’s therapeutics areas preferred.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects to successful completion.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others and accomplish goals within a matrixed environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel as the position requires.
What We will Provide to You:
- The base salary range for this role is $204,900.00 - $226,500.00. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.
