Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Fund Development for immediate hire for our client, an incredible Nonprofit organization dedicated to resolving conflicts through mediation, training, and community engagement. This is an exciting, Hybrid, Full-Time opportunity located in San Diego, CA!
As the Director of Fund Development, you will be responsible for the organization’s entire fund-raising program including corporate sponsorships, individual donors, grant writing, and annual fundraising events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out fund-raising operations, ensuring that the programs and services delivered are consistent with the mission, policies, and goals established by the Board.
- Develop, maintain, and evaluate the annual fund development strategy and goals.
- Provide guidance to the President and the Board in the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of Fund-Raising programs and events.
- Assist the President and the Board in networking and development of new members, community liaisons and sponsorship opportunities.
- Lead volunteer committees that assist the Fund Development Director in reaching the goals of the position.
- Develop, oversee, maintain and evaluate communication systems (i.e. database, monthly e-blast, invitations, website) required to communicate with sponsors, donors and other supporters.
- Provide the President with grant and funding opportunities in order to create proposal plans.
- Develop, analyze and prepare financial reports of revenue and expenses for events, donations, grant and foundation awards, and programs receiving funds.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings, Board meetings, annual Board and staff retreats.
- Determine how funds will be raised to meet strategic goals and objectives.
- Develop and/or maintain all fund-raising financial reports and analyses.
- Support and/or help create and implement new policies and procedures, standards and rules/regulations that align with fundraising goals.
- Observe, measure, and evaluate outcomes against goals and objectives and direct the development and implementation of solutions and/or organizational changes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years in non-profit experience in a fund-raising role.
- Four-year degree required.
- CFRE desired.
- Demonstrated success in networking and developing philanthropic partnerships.
- Demonstrated skill and success in working with volunteers.
- Demonstrated computer knowledge including experience in database management, website oversight and maintenance.
- Demonstrated financial management and related report development experience.
