This Opportunity
As our Director of Sustainability, you'll be the driving force fostering sustainability education, advancement and implementation efforts by advising project design teams and providing strategic consultation to clients relevant to their objectives.

Your New Role
- Setting Sustainable Design Goals: Spearheading the development of project sustainable design goals and implementing performance metrics to track progress through project completion.
- Carbon Sequestration and Mitigation: Bringing expertise in carbon sequestration and mitigation strategies to enhance project sustainability efforts.
- Design-Team Integration: Facilitating seamless communication and strategy integration among design teams to align with project sustainable design goals.
- Maximizing Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: Ensuring projects are equipped with the latest tools, resources, and strategies to boost energy efficiency, sustainability, and resilience.
- Educational Training and Presentations: Conducting engaging educational training sessions and presentations both internally and externally to promote sustainability awareness and best practices.
- Third-Party Certification Support: Providing guidance and education to project teams in pursuit of third-party certifications like LEED, BREEAM, WELL, SITES, Living Building Challenge, and others, as well oversight and quality control of certification submissions.
The Director of Sustainability will work out of our Los Angeles, CA office.
Who You Are
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the architecture, construction, or engineering industries.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Environmental Studies, or Natural Sciences.
- Dynamic individual with a knack for adaptability, initiative and limitless curiosity.
- Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and strong time management.
- Polished professional demeanor with excellent written, graphic and verbal English communication skills.
- Advanced strategic thinking skills and a high level of complex, conceptual problem-solving ability.
- Proven history of developing compelling presentations, memos, and other working material.
- Self-driven and able to work independently and collaboratively with minimal guidance.
- Strong working knowledge of the green buildings industry, including the EPA ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager system, state and local energy benchmarking disclosure laws, the LEED and ENERGY STAR certification processes.
- Willing to travel as needed.
Compensation
$100,000 - $150,000 per year. Applicants, please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The wage offered or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
This salary range is based off the Los Angeles area.
