POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dean is the lead in our student retention modeling to positively impact the equitable student retention and graduation of our students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Collaborate with the Dean of Enrollment and Access on strategic enrollment management to align with student success goals.
- Collaborate with Academics to promote the offering of courses to best fit the needs of the student's success.
- Provide leadership, supervision and coordination for services and personnel, including budget and fiscal management in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Establish an on-going systematic student affairs assessment plan with a focus on the equitable effectiveness of services and operations and learning outcomes. Work collaboratively with college departments and teams to plan, implement, and assess programs and services. Evaluate and track effectiveness of services; implement and utilize student feedback to ensure services are effective and meet student and community needs.
- Develop programs and processes that improve the quality of the student experience and results in higher success that leads to the eradication of all opportunity gaps and overall increase of success. Keep informed on key student issues and demonstrate appropriate planning and response to the changing needs of students.
- Engage and grow community resources to support the non-academic needs of students, ensuring they have access to essential resources.
- Build a sense of belonging and connection among students, fostering a campus environment that enhances their overall college experience.
- Collaborate with the Dean of Enrollment and Access to develop, implement and assess equitable recruitment and retention strategies that impact the College's annual enrollment goals.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize data concerning equitable student success or other trends. Assist in exploring and introducing national and state trends and best practices to meet student needs.
- Serve as the decision-maker for Student Conduct cases, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and resolve/mediate student concerns as they relate to policy or process conflicts through the work of the Ombuds.
- Ensure the Leave of Absence process supports our students effectively.
- Promote a culture of Divisional service excellence and expectation to increase student learning, satisfaction, and success.
- Participate in relevant community events that promote the College.
- Assist in the writing and development of grant proposals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrated progressively responsible supervisory experience in a professional setting.
- 3 years position related experience.
Additional Experiences Considered:
- 3-7 years position related experience.
