Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is an Executive position responsible for leading all operational aspects of the organization to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. In collaboration with the President, the COO establishes goals and objectives for the organization. The COO also devises strategies, formulates plans, organizes resources, and monitors performance to ensure that the operation and strategic objectives of NorDx and MaineHealth are met.
The COO will communicate goals and objectives throughout the organization and work with the Directors to ensure that day-to-day operations are appropriate to accomplish those objectives. The COO also analyzes data and identifies problems at the organization level while prioritizing opportunities for improvement and facilitating appropriate changes.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Advance degree required. Masters in Business Administration preferred.
- License/Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Healthcare management experience is required with laboratory management experience strongly preferred. A minimum of 5 years' senior management experience in a healthcare environment is required.
- Medium to advanced level proficiency in Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint, and multiple system platforms.
- Ability to deal with complex technical/management problems, meet deadlines, and manage multiple concurrent projects.
