Position: Attorney, Litigation and Trial Practice
Location: Atlanta, GA
Job Description:
- Represent clients in litigation matters, with duties including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents and briefs, appearing in court, meeting with clients, participating in the discovery process, conducting depositions and witness examinations, identifying and preparing exhibits, and reviewing and organizing client documents.
- Draft pleadings, dispositive motions, and motions to compel discovery pursuant to specific litigation in federal courts.
- Author client memos and briefings summarizing legal developments about recent decisions, laws, and rulings.
- Draft notices of deposition, expert witness or consultant agreements, and motions to dismiss or briefs in response to filings.
- Manage e-discovery responsibilities including drafting document retention notices, conduct document review, and participate in negotiations with opposing counsel regarding scope of discovery.
- Interview witnesses, including third-party witnesses, prepare witnesses for deposition and defend depositions, and depose fact witnesses.
- Participate in status conferences, communications with clients, opposing counsel and judges; handle oral arguments on motions to compel; and lead mediation or settlement negotiations.
- Must have Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school.
- Must be licensed to practice law and be a member in good standing in the state of Georgia and New York.
- Must have 2 years of experience as an attorney performing litigation and trial practice with an international law firm.
- Must have 2 years of experience with the following:
- Complex commercial litigation, including securities and antitrust class actions, white collar defense and investigations.
- Deposition and witness interviews, utilizing remote deposition software such as Veritext Virtual and RemoteLegal.
- Preparing client alerts on data security and privacy developments.
- Drafting submissions to regulatory agencies in connection with fraud, securities, health care, and data breach investigations.
- Advising on application of data security laws and evaluating litigation and regulatory risks of cyber incidents.
- Drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, including demurrers and motions to compel discovery.
- Advising on pre-litigation disputes and facilitating preparation for mediations.
- Managing large-scale electronic discovery utilizing data analytics platforms, such as Relativity and Brainspace.
Salary range: $235,000 - $375,000
