UHealth-University of Miami Health System Department of Information Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Director, Epic Revenue Cycle to provide strategic and operational leadership for Epic revenue cycle hospital and professional billing applications, including but not limited to Resolute Physician Billing, and Resolute Hospital Billing. Further, the Director, Epic Applications will oversee a team consisting of managers and analysts with Epic revenue cycle hospital and professional billing application experience and lead a multi-disciplinary team in the design, implementation, workflow optimization, change management, support, and issue resolution related to the revenue cycle hospital and professional billing applications.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction on the design, implementation, build, testing, modification, and analysis of Epic revenue cycle hospital and professional billing applications.
- Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, growth and expansion opportunities, and improving patient experiences and outcomes related to satisfaction and quality.
- Provide organizational knowledge and guidance for Resolute Physician Billing and Resolute Hospital Billing teams to facilitate decision-making.
- Manage daily operations and direct staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Supervise the performance management of assigned staff including hiring, training, evaluation, promotion, and termination.
- Design improved work systems by revising work standards, policies, and procedures.
- Manage scope, budget, schedule, and quality of projects.
- Establish a clear line of communication with clinical and business leaders.
- Maintain regular communication with team members and lead weekly project team meetings.
- Review the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with the team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Epic Certifications required - Epic revenue cycle hospital and professional billing.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in healthcare or healthcare-related organization.
- 3-4 years of experience in a leadership role in hospital and/or physician revenue cycle billing.
- Strong understanding of the core functions and processes of the billing office.
- Understanding of revenue cycle management or experience with billing operations.
- Direct experience managing hospital and/or professional billing accounts receivables.
- Experience leading large teams of individuals and the ability to manage staff effectively.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Past success with large-scale projects such as other software implementations, building projects, or other key initiatives.
- Able to logically examine and interpret information from different sources to determine a problem's cause and develop a course of action to resolve the problem and prevent its recurrence.
- Ability to gain trust and establish effective relationships with team members.
- Ability to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures.
