SEI Investments is a global asset management firm with over $410 billion in assets under management as of March 31, 2023. There is an immediate opening for a highly motivated, results and detail oriented OCIO Regional Director of Sales for our North American Institutional team. The role will be a part of the Institutional Sales team and report directly to the Head of North American Sales.
This position is available in Chicago, IL or Oaks, PA but flexible to other office locations.
The role will require an individual to be collaborative in working with teams across the following areas internally at SEI: business development, client service, strategic advice, marketing and investment management. Primary responsibilities include cultivating relationships with institutional asset owners, identifying prospective clients in which SEI would be a good business partner, understanding the OCIO competitive landscape, and developing an overall sales strategy based on a prospect’s unique circumstances. Strong analytical and board presentation skills are necessary for the candidate to be successful. Qualified candidates should have a record of accomplishment and demonstrated ability to communicate complex public and private investment concepts to a variety investor types.

What you will do:
- Manage entire sales process from prospect identification through on-boarding of a new client
- Develop strategy with a clear understanding of the prospective institutional client’s organizational needs, including; typical cash flow, liquidity requirements and risk tolerance. Analyze information and synthesize data to develop a message, a point of view and a recommendation on sales strategy
- Work across functional teams to grow SEI’s Institutional OCIO business; including collaboration with SEI’s Investment Management Unit, Institutional Marketing, Institutional Advice, and Institutional Client Management Teams
- Present to prospective clients with SEI team members in a boardroom setting
- Provide leadership and bring innovative ideas to assist SEI in evolving our OCIO business relative to the competitive landscape
- Identify differentiating investment and non-investment practices to enhance SEI’s OCIO offering
What we need from you:
- Desire to contribute to the growth of SEI’s Institutional OCIO business
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in investment management industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or in a related field
- Deep understanding of the institutional investor market place and SEI’s investment process
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to think strategically and creatively
- Critical business skills including excellent communication (written and verbal), cross-selling, customer negotiation, problem solving, presentation and project management skills
- Demonstrated track record of providing advice on investment policy, strategic asset allocation, risk management, asset class structure and implementation for both traditional and non-traditional investments
- Strong understanding of illiquid investment strategies on both a stand along basis and in the context of a client’s overall asset allocation
- Knowledge of the evolving responsible investing landscape including; DEI, ESG, SRI and Impact Investing
- Travel will be required and could vary between 40-60%
