We’re searching for a Motion Planning Software Engineer to support and scale efforts for our Behavior Planning Team.
In this role, you will
- Develop real-time algorithms for selecting safe and comfortable trajectories for a self-driving vehicle
- Design metric suites and testing workflows for rapid iteration on algorithms
- Design and implement efficient production-grade software for the Aurora Driver
- Provide technical leadership for the architectural elements of online and offline systems for evaluating good trajectories.
Required Qualifications
- BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field
- 4+ years of strong programming and software design skills in C++.
- Experience in low latency, real-time or robotics systems
- Experience in optimizing workloads on GPUs and use of nVidia profiling tools ( Nsight systems and Nsight compute. )
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to navigate and work effectively in large codebases environments
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in optimizing workloads on x86/64 CPUs and use of profiling tools ( ftrace, perf etc.)
- Experience in developing large scale distributed model training and systems across multiple GPUs
- Experience in optimization on ARM CPUs
The base salary range for this position is $168k-$252K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
