Based in King of Prussia, PA - this is an on-site position.
Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a critical role in the overall financial management and strategic direction of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will lead the accounting and finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the construction industry and a proven track record of financial leadership in a similar environment.
Key responsibilities include (and are not limited to) the following:
- Financial Leadership: Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
- Executive Leadership: Serve as a key member of the executive team, collaborating with the CEO and other leaders to drive the company's strategic vision and operational effectiveness.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor the accounting and finance team, ensuring high performance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial processes.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and financial forecasts. Monitor financial performance and provide insights and recommendations to the executive team.
- Construction Industry Expertise: Apply industry-specific knowledge to ensure accurate project costing, financial management of construction contracts, and effective cash flow management.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies. Oversee insurance, bonding, and other risk management activities.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial documents. Present financial information to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors.
- Strategic Planning: Participate in the development and execution of company-wide strategies, providing financial insights and guidance to support business decisions.
- Mergers and Acquisitions: Evaluate potential acquisition opportunities and lead financial due diligence processes.
- Investor Relations: Manage relationships with banks, investors, and other financial stakeholders. Secure financing as needed to support growth initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or senior financial management role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, financial management of contracts, and project costing.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Experience working closely with executive leadership and contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
