Reporting to the Senior Manager – IT Infrastructure, the role of Senior Systems Administrator - Cyber Security will work hands-on to implement infrastructure/systems changes to improve our organization’s security posture and protect us from modern threats. The individual in this role will join a team of skilled infrastructure professionals that supports our growing enterprise. This role will work on a wide range of technologies from cutting edge to legacy platforms, and as such need to be flexible and quick learners. In addition, this role will partner with other teams within IT to implement cyber security changes related to e-commerce websites and PCI.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assess, document, and develop a plan to improve cyber security for a variety of systems.
- Hands-on implementation of changes/improvements to cyber security for IT infrastructure including:
- Windows (and some Linux) servers (physical, virtual, and cloud-based)
- Active Directory and Group Policy management
- Microsoft 365 suite (Exchange Online, Teams, etc.)
- Microsoft Azure & Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Endpoint protection (EDR, MDR)
- Modern multi-factor authentication
- Networking (routers, switches, VLANs, subnets, etc.)
- Remote Access (Zero-Trust, VPN)
- Lead efforts with other IT teams and resources to implement cyber security improvements to e-commerce systems/platforms as well as APIs and integrations.
- Work closely with other business departments to develop/change processes to ensure PCI compliance throughout the organization.
- Complete any/all necessary cyber security documentation for the organization, including customer required documentation, insurance documentation, PCI self-assessments, and own any required cyber security audit(s).
- Provide cyber security training to other IT team members as needed to help elevate expertise across the team.
- Assist with planning of new IT systems and infrastructure to ensure they have best-practices for cyber security in place when they go-live.
- Up to 20% domestic travel will be required to other company facilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-time experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Admin, Network Admin, or equivalent.
- Experience working in a multi-site organization is required.
- Bachelor's degree or multiple technical certifications such as MCSA, CCNA, etc.
- Previous training/experience with PCI self-assessments or audits is a plus but not required.
- Willingness to participate in formal PCI and cyber-security training.
- Background managing IT infrastructure including servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, network drives, Wi-Fi, network, MFA/2FA, SAN/NAS, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and determination.
- Experience managing IT infrastructure projects and/or implementing new systems/technologies.
- Thorough understanding of enterprise IT best practices for security, standardization, availability, and support.
- A desire to learn and continually improve knowledge of new technologies and cyber-security landscape.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects/items simultaneously.
- Flexible hybrid on-site schedule.
