Associate Director, Customer Training
San Diego, CA / Gaithersburg, MD
Your Tasks:
Responsible for the strategic development of the customer training program within the Miltenyi Innovation and Technology Center (MITC) in collaboration with senior managers and global training teams.
Essential Functions:
- Provide Strategic Direction and Leadership. Lead Miltenyi Innovation and Technology Centers (MITC) to ensure alignment with overall company objectives.
- Drive growth, efficiency, and innovation in customer technical training. Maintain quality standards and establish key performance metrics, such as ROI for customer training programs.
- Cultivate strategic relationships. Develop and strengthen strategic internal and external business relationships with global teams, HQ, and NA Sales to identify growth and strategic opportunities for MITC. Enhance the influence and reach of Miltenyi's customer educational portal, Miltenyi University.
- Mentor and develop high-functioning teams. Foster the growth of high-performing teams by setting training standards in instructional design, curriculum development, knowledge transfer, customer success, and brand loyalty.
- Evaluate industry trends and best practices. Monitor and analyze industry trends and best practices in training methodologies to help achieve customer training goals. Serve as a knowledgeable resource, guiding the organization in implementing optimal training approaches.
Requirements:
- M.S. in a life science-related discipline; extensive experience in training program development and management in a technical life science setting; or equivalent combination of experience (i.e. teaching adult STEM education).
- At least 5 years' experience managing a team.
- Experience developing and establishing a diverse team of people managers.
- Must have experience in designing and delivering training for customers.
- Domestic & International travel up to 50%
Knowledge & Skills:
- Must have proven success in designing and executing successful training programs, using both traditional and modern training methods (in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.)
- Excellent communication and project planning skills.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office365 tools, project management software, such as Jira, Cornerstone OnDemand LMS and E-learning authoring tools such as: Articulate, Captivate, Camtasia, etc.
Abilities:
- Ability to plan, multi-task, and initiate independent projects.
- Ability to build and expand strategic partnerships within a global company.

For Candidates based in California, the anticipated base salary range has been established at $141,300 - $191,100/year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above salary ranges represent the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition to your salary, the Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, and dental insurance, plus a 401(k) plan. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses or commissions.
