The Corporate Counsel will manage litigation and product liability claims and provide advice on issues such as product liability risk assessment and product review, employment law counseling, product literature and marketing review, and risk management. The Legal Counsel will also support global compliance initiatives. You will report to the Assistant General Counsel but will also require close coordination with the General Counsel and others in the Legal department.
You Will:
Manage the claims and litigation portfolio.
Support Risk Management regarding product liability claims, including claims, litigation and arbitration matters, and conducting product risk assessments.
Provide legal counsel to the Marketing Department concerning advertising content and marketing materials, ensuring compliance with relevant legal regulations and laws, particularly regarding warnings/disclaimers, and review and approve promotions, press releases, point of sale marketing, product instructions, and labels for legal compliance.
Advise the Human Resources Department on a range of issues, including concerning employee hiring and discipline issues, hotline investigations, policy development, and counsel regarding evolving statutory or regulatory employment law issues.
Conduct internal investigations.
Monitor environmental laws and regulations with potential business impact and advise partners.
Review and respond to product quality or safety issues.
Advise business clients on legal issues and risks, product development, approval processes, and company policies and procedures.
Offer comprehensive legal support and guidance across multiple areas including anti-corruption compliance, CPSC regulations, contract disputes, insurance, litigation preparedness, and regulatory compliance issues.
You Have:
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm setting.
Litigation experience should include commercial disputes, employment litigation, and product liability claims.
Employment counseling experience and experience in consumer products and/or manufacturing sectors.
Expertise in litigation strategy and rules of civil procedure.
Experience in product liability litigation; consumer products and/or manufacturing experience a plus.
Experience in employment law.
Deposition, trial, and other hands-on litigation experience.
Conducted internal investigations.
