Withum's multi-employer benefit plan industry team provides support and guidance to our clients to succeed in a technology-driven world full of ever-changing rules and regulations. You'll be working with a team of renowned experts and thought leaders in the industry who are passionate about what they do! In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning and execution to completion, including supervision/mentoring of staff, working directly with partners and managers, and building/maintaining relationships with clients. How You'll Spend Your Time:
- Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world-class client service
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and the conclusion
- Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff and promoting open communication to the engagement manager and partner
- Performing and overseeing attest procedures specific to nonprofits, with a focus on developing those specific to trade and membership organizations
- Collaborating with managers and partners on client issue resolution and making recommendations for any legal, regulatory, and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement
- Reviewing all scheduled and non-scheduled general ledger accounts for accurate entries
- Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
- Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit
- Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- CPA
- At least 10 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
- Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP due to the complexity of the engagements in this sector
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management and those charged with governance
- Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skill
- Knowledge of or experience preparing IRS Form 990, 990T, and related state returns, not required
- Knowledge of CCH audit tool, not required
