Heimdal
Heimdal builds machines that permanently capture and store atmospheric CO2. Congress has passed legislation (IRA) guaranteeing a price of $180/tCO2 removed via Direct Air Capture until 2032. We are building technology that profitably captures CO2 with this tax credit, right here in the United States.
In 2022, we built the cheapest carbon removal plant in the world, in Hawaii. In 2024 we’ll be launching Project Bantam, the biggest DAC facility in America. Bantam will finally deliver affordable, verified DAC.
As a company we question everything and we follow the numbers. We try to be really hardcore about getting things done, while enjoying what we do, and our lives outside work.
Role
- Collaborate in the development of a process flow diagram for the system and take responsibility for working through the sizing and sourcing of components through a P&ID
- Understanding the entirety of the system and being able to adapt quickly to work on unfamiliar problems
- Being creative when problem-solving to come up with unconventional solutions which reduce costs significantly whilst thinking 'could I build this/do this myself?'
- Collaborating with CAD design engineers on macro and micro system arrangement
- Continuously analyse the whole of the system (including outside of your primary focus area) to determine changes that can allow us to capture more carbon at a lower cost. It doesn't matter how significant a change it would be - we want to know.
- Determine aspects of the system that would benefit from R&D. Firstly, identifying fundamentals that need to be understood and then hypothesizing on solutions for improvement.
We are moving fast and we are looking for people who can move as fast or faster. The position comes with significant stock options that only incentivize us to move even quicker.
