Job Summary
Working as a Director of Operations for Chartwells Higher Education will allow you the opportunity to work with GREAT people like yourself! The purpose of this job is to manage the food service operation, maintaining established costs and quality standards so as to ensure superior service and maximize profits. To reach these goals, you will handle the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership of multiple operations in the campus dining setting with total managed volume more than $25 million.
- Develops, recommends, and implements policies and procedures of the region.
- Supports the development and implementation of clinical and resident service programs that meet client and regulatory standards.
- Participates in the sales process for the acquisition of new business.
- Monitors financial reports of the accounts to ensure budgetary compliance.
- Develops and motivates an effective management team.
- Visits units regularly to inspect unit operations to ensure contract compliance.
- Interfaces with existing clients to maintain client satisfaction and account retention.
- Resolves client, resident, and associate related complaints.
- Conducts appropriate annual and semi-annual performance evaluations.
- Completes all daily, weekly, and monthly reports as outlined in the corporate policy.
- Projects a high level of customer service at all times.
- Trains, motivates, and develops management personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent related experience.
- Proven ability to manage a team.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in multi-unit foodservice management.
- Strong track record of driving customer satisfaction.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and P&L driven environment.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
