Assist the Manager in developing relationships with new markets for additional perils, coverages and/or capacity, as needed and maintain active broker relationships with outside markets, including domestic companies, Excess & Surplus Lines companies, specialty companies, and London.
Visit FM clients/prospects to provide information on the worldwide insurance markets, provide creative advice on program structure and develop market strategy which would benefit the Client's program and complement FM.
Provide FM's clients and account teams with innovative solutions regarding perils, coverages, and/or capacity needed to complete their insurance program requirements regardless of whether or not CIS will be placing reinsurance.
Visit FM operations/FM Clients periodically to develop business and successfully interact with all levels of management.
Produce and maintain an active book of business for premium and commission income flow to FM and various outside markets.
Provide training and support to brokers and support staff as needed.
Market and place coverages and capacity on the most professional and effective basis.
Continue professional development and maintain necessary licensing.
Demonstrate consistent superior performance and leadership in the above result areas working under less supervision than normally given to Brokers.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent: MBA a plus!
- 10+ years outside insurance, reinsurance and/or brokerage experience.
- Knowledge of all facets of property insurance.
- Marketing skills to interact with FM clients or prospects.
- Multi-tasking skills to structure and place various complex insurance programs with outside markets.
- Knowledge of internal operations.
- Sales skills (markets, customers and internal).
- Strong knowledge of computer and supporting software.
