Secure Mission Solutions (SMS) is seeking a Principal DevSecOps/DevOps Software Engineer to join a highly accomplished, multi-discipline organization responsible for developing software solutions for RTX products. This position supports the Trusted Mission Processing (TMP) product area within the Mission Systems strategic business unit of Collins Aerospace, an RTX business. TMP provides secured processing platforms and capabilities to both domestic and international customers.
What You Will Do
You will provide expert technical design, execution, and implementation of DevSecOps/DevOps pipelines for the Common Open Secure Mission Computing (COSMC) IRAD product line as well as software development contributions.
You will have a proven track record of leading a team in the design, implementation, and efficient utilization of common DevSecOps/DevOps software factory tool pipelines for an Agile software development team. The pipeline will include automated test, continuous integration, and continuous delivery for an overall test-driven software development approach to achieve maximum benefit and reduce development costs.
You will have experience developing, enhancing, and delivering robust embedded software solutions to meet open system design objectives and technical performance requirements within cost and schedule constraints. You will collaborate and effectively communicate design and implementation rationale to varied audiences including multi-disciplined engineering teams, project leadership, and peers.
This position is located onsite in McKinney, TX and requires an active/current Secret security clearance.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Expert DevSecOps/DevOps leadership experience with setup, management, and utilization of software factory/tools pipeline for development, continuous integration/test, and product delivery.
- Virtualization – Virtual Machines, Docker/Containers.
- Experience leading Agile projects and development teams.
- Red Hat Linux Operating System development experience.
- Real-time, embedded software development experience.
- Proficient C++ Object-Oriented development.
- Advanced programming (i.e., multi-threading, shared memory, device drivers, linked lists, etc.)
- Solid understanding of modern interfaces: Ethernet, PCIe, and other types of network protocols.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Ability to document and effectively communicate approach, constraints, design, and rationale to various audiences.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
- Active/Current and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. This position will require the ability to access U.S. only data systems, and only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

- Model Based Systems Engineering (MSBE), Cameo Modeling, SysML/UML
- Understanding of Open System Architecture and design objectives (e.g., FACE, OMS)
- Familiarity with cyber security techniques, configuration, implementation, and verification.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
