Are you a seasoned warehouse professional with a knack for leadership and organization? Our client is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of their warehouse operations.
The ideal candidate will manage the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient handling of inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities of the Warehouse Manager:
- Supervise all warehouse operations and establish operational procedures.
- Verify incoming shipments and ensure accurate documentation.
- Monitor inbound shipment volume and manage staffing accordingly.
- Assign and inspect the vaulting of shipments for proper loading.
- Investigate overages and shortages in claims situations.
- Train warehouse employees in packing, forklift operation, and warehouse safety.
- Enforce security and safety guidelines within the warehouse.
- Schedule and document daily inbound and outbound assignments.
- Maintain equipment and schedule preventative maintenance.
- Ensure warehouse and yard are clean and organized.
- Recommend procedures to improve warehouse operations.
- Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements of the Warehouse Manager:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of warehouse experience with at least 12 months in a supervisory role.
- Forklift safety certification and packing certification.
- Ability to operate a forklift, tractor/trailer, pack van, and straight truck.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage, train, and interact effectively with employees.
- Physical ability to lift up to 150 lbs. and push/pull up to 300 lbs.
- Ability to stand, stoop, climb, kneel, and lift daily.
- Positive attitude with effective problem-solving skills.
