POSITION DUTIES
General Purpose: The Deputy Director will support the Chief Innovation Officer in leading theInnovation Team and will help ensure the innovation team is delivering on the goal of buildingprosperous futures for Marylanders. The Deputy Director will closely oversee workstreams andprojects of the Innovation Team as they progress.Responsibilities:● Provide thought partnership and support to the Chief Innovation Officer in leading theInnovation Team with an equity-centered, design-based approach to problem solvingthat focuses on identifying root causes of civic challenges and sustainable long-termsolutions● Collaborate with colleagues and community partners to co-create and manage bold,innovative solutions to jointly address child poverty, economic mobility, and otherchallenges● Effectively manage the diverse skill sets of the team and leverage available technicalexpertise to maximize creativity and impact● Build and maintain strong relationships and foster collaboration among a broad set ofstakeholders, including senior government officials and private sector and nonprofitleaders● Support the capacity-building of state government colleagues, community basedorganizations, and other stakeholders to work together to co-create and implementtransformative solutions● Ensure that there are clear and appropriate implementation plans for delivery on allmajor initiatives● Establish tools and processes for the Innovation team to promote increasedcollaboration and efficiency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
