Department Overview
The IPVideo department designs, engineers, and develops IoT based products for the safety and security industry. The team has developed the HALO and Sentry ERS products and continues to develop many more to add to the product portfolio. The department includes Cloud Development and Device Development teams. The Cloud Development team is responsible for all the web and mobile application development to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions for our customers.
Job Description
IPVideo is seeking a skilled Software QA Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing various components of our software ecosystem, including cloud APIs, interfaces, web portal, and mobile applications. This role requires a meticulous individual who can ensure that our software meets product requirements and customer expectations through comprehensive testing procedures.
Scope Of Responsibilities / Expectations
- End-to-End Testing: Conduct thorough testing of cloud APIs, interfaces, web portal, and mobile apps to ensure seamless functionality across different platforms and environments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the product team to develop testing procedures that align with product requirements and user expectations.
- Bug Identification: Identify and report bugs, defects, and areas for improvement in a clear and detailed manner.
- Feedback Loop: Provide prompt and constructive feedback to the engineering team to facilitate fast iteration and resolution of issues.
- Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to streamline testing processes and increase efficiency.
- Regression Testing: Perform regression testing to ensure that software updates and enhancements do not introduce new issues or regressions.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, test results, and any deviations from expected behavior.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that software releases meet high-quality standards and comply with relevant industry regulations and best practices.
Desired Background/Knowledge/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in software testing
- Proven experience in software quality assurance testing, preferably in a cloud-based environment.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in writing clear and concise test cases and test plans.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts and issues to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
The base salary range for this position in New York is $105,000 - $120,000 depending on experience.
