Job Mission
This is an outstanding opportunity in our San Diego, CA facility to join our Strategic Sourcing & Procurement team. The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for engaging the cross-sectoral team to drive outsourcing initiatives with the goal of aligning current product line with the vision of the future factory business portfolio. This person will lead cross-functional matrixed teams to develop outsourcing and transfer plans and then drive the team to meet scheduled plans. The candidate will evaluate products for make/buy decisions, taking into account the manufacturing competencies and cost or time to market for a competitive advantage for ASML in technology.
Current suppliers will be managed for performance, while potential new suppliers will be uncovered and readied for future business as needed. This position requires a combination of skills in strategic thinking, leadership, initiative, professional communication, financial/business analysis, and is greatly aided by a background in engineering or technology.
Roles and responsibilities
The key duties involved in this position include:
- Contribute to the strategic long-term planning and manufacturing roadmap of ASML.
- Establish and drive outsourcing projects. This includes obtaining funding, developing tooling plans, working with development engineering to upgrade documentation, and managing qualification plans.
- Communicate clear plans to management.
- Manage the cross-functional team.
- Clear reporting and escalation of issues/barriers to senior management.
- Proactively monitor developments and trends within the supply base and ensure ASML is prepared to react appropriately.
- Drive supplier selection activities by leading one or more Sourcing Teams.
- Negotiate Long Term Supply Agreements (LTSA), NPI Agreements, and associated addenda.
- Monitor contractual compliance of the supplier as well as ASML.
- Drive continuous cost and lead time reduction.
- Prepare supplier spending forecasts.
- Monitor supplier financial health.
- Ensure all communication to the supplier is coordinated and consistent.
- Execute the QLTC (supplier performance measurement) process.
- Prepare for, lead, and follow-up from SAT ("Supplier Account Team") meetings.
- Drive supply base rationalization within the commodity.
- Initiate and drive closure on supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and Non-Conformances.
- Participate in supplier quality audits and drive closure of findings.
Education and experience
- Bachelor degree in business administration, engineering or related field is required or equivalent experience. An MBA is strongly preferred.
- 8 years of progressive experience in sourcing, procurement or supply chain management with a minimum of 5 years' experience as sourcing or commodity manager in a high-tech, international manufacturing environment.
- A deep understanding of one or more technology-related supply chains is strongly preferred.
- Experience in high volume manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with lean/six-sigma manufacturing methodologies.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Highly motivated, takes initiative.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally required.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.

- Must be able to professionally represent ASML to outside companies.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques is a big plus and a strong familiarity with technology manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Must thrive in an environment where constant multi-tasking is the norm.
- Must be proficient with MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. Knowledge of Oracle and/or SAP is a plus.
- Must be comfortable with ambiguity and constant change.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently: $107,250-178,750. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
