ABOUT THE ROLE
Roland Foods is excited and committed to growing our International Sales channel, and we are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to lead our International Sales team. TheDirector of International Salesis a quota-carrying sales and leadership position. This is a true player-coach role with revenue accountability for the International channel. The ideal candidate is capable of executing innovative sales initiatives to elevate Roland’s brand presence, drive revenue growth, and establish strategic partnerships in target markets. Expectations include leading a data-driven and accountable sales team, forging strategic partnerships with both foodservice and retail distributors, and providing executive level reporting and sales plans.
Location: This is a remote role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the Roland Foods International Sales team/customers/revenue) by overseeing the creation and execution of customer plans with high integrity
- Oversee the selling process and sales team to deliver unit volume and net sales expectations
- Develop and execute sales plans and initiatives in established markets to deliver on organic growth objectives and goals
- Build sales development plans with importers, distributors, buying groups and supermarket chains and identify best methods to support and service Roland’s brand
- Develop plans and utilize creative business models to enter new global markets, accounting for export regulations, currency fluctuations, political risk and demand for Roland products
- Detailed management of existing and new programs for customers (e.g. pricing, rebates, promotions, and sampling)
Build cross-functional support by collaborating with front-line and senior levels in the organization
- Communicate with Senior Leadership, Strategy, Revenue Management, Supply Chain to establish aligned support for channel initiatives and plans
- Collaborate with internal teams to help execute sales strategies and plans (e.g. Strategy, Revenue Management, and Supply Chain)
- Represent the International Sales team by truly understanding the day-to-day details and customer interactions to help develop and influence strategic decisions
Team development and leadership
- Identify, recruit, and retain a balanced and diverse team based on member/candidate strengths and role fit supported by relevant knowledge, skills, and experience
- Provide the foundation for team effectiveness by creating and maintaining team processes and a culture of accountability
- Apply training and coaching effectively for individual and team development
- Complete performance evaluations for direct reports
Reporting expectations
- Participate in demand planning to include annual and quarterly forecasting
- Prepare monthly reporting and presentations
- Provide ad-hoc reports and presentations for sales leadership
- Manage team budgets for salaries, travel, and entertainment
Key performance metrics
- Delivery of the business plans across customers to meet or exceed International Sales volume and net sales targets
- Individual quota attainment for new opportunity wins
- Management effectiveness (organizational health, attrition %) – people development
- Quantifiable achievement of personal and team goals
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Required
- Bi-lingual – English and Spanish
- 10+ years of sales experience
- 5+ years of experience in the food industry & CPG business development; particularly selling specialty foods
- International business development experience
- Proficiency with Salesforce.com
- General understanding of P&L and business forecasting capabilities
- Proven leadership capabilities
- Strong communication and presentation skills in front of groups of all sizes
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Culinary Arts Degree
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with experience using a CRM program
- Experience using a trade promotions program (TPM)
- Ability to create executive-level presentations
- Organized, detail-oriented with strong technical writing skills
- 25 – 30% domestic and international travel required
SALARY RANGE
Roland Foods hires exceptional people to perform a wide variety of important functions that contribute to the success of the Company. One of the ways Roland Foods does that is through a competitive compensation package. The base salary for this role will be $120,000 - $155,000.
This role is bonus eligible.
Based on your qualifications, previous experience, and transferrable skills, the Company will determine at its sole discretion, the salary offered.
