Job Description
A Creative Agency and Manufacturer in Brooklyn is looking for a Vice President of Human Resources for a growing business. This role requires 2 days a week in the office. The ideal candidate should have labor law knowledge in the UK, France, and China, with a strong emphasis on the UK and France. The candidate should also possess strong change management experience and senior leadership development experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Planning:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop HR strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Identify emerging HR trends and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive in attracting, retaining, and developing top talent.
- Lead the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives that support organizational growth and employee engagement.
- Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Oversee the recruitment and selection process, ensuring a diverse pipeline of qualified candidates for all positions.
- Develop and implement talent management strategies to attract, retain, and develop high-performing employees.
- Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs, create job descriptions, and conduct interviews for key positions.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on a wide range of HR-related issues, including performance management, employee relations, and conflict resolution.
- Develop and implement programs to promote a positive work environment and employee engagement.
- Handle complex employee relations matters and conduct investigations as needed, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
- Learning and Development:
- Design and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and competencies.
- Identify learning needs and opportunities for career development, succession planning, and leadership development.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Compensation and Benefits:
- Oversee the administration of compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with legal requirements.
- Conduct salary surveys and benchmarking studies to ensure the organization's compensation practices remain competitive.
- Collaborate with finance and other departments to develop and manage the HR budget.
- HR Analytics and Reporting:
- Utilize HR analytics and data-driven insights to measure HR effectiveness, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting key HR metrics and trends.
- Use data to drive continuous improvement in HR processes and practices.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing HR strategies that support business objectives.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance in all HR activities.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate future HR needs and proactively develop solutions.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
