The Associate General Counsel - Employment Law role is primarily responsible for overseeing a full range of labor and employment issues and related litigation for the organization.
Key Responsibilities And Duties
- Advises on employee benefits matters, such as qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, fiduciary governance, non qualified plans.
- Provides day-to-day advice and counsel on state and federal employment laws and regulations, including ADA, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA and wage and hour compliance.
- Develops incentive compensation plans, programs, policies, manuals/handbooks and related training.
- Provides advice and counsel regarding legal aspects of recruiting and hiring.
- Provide employment-related support and advise on contract drafting and negotiation, compensation and benefits issues in connection with M&A transactions, related strategic initiatives and roll-out of new business lines
- Manages all labor and employment related lawsuits, including risk assessment, oversight of case discovery and case resolution.
- Responsible for managing outside counsel, budgets, reporting and other projects as assigned.
- Partners with human resources to investigate and provide advice on employment-related issues across the organization.
- Provides advice and counsel regarding potential employee disciplinary action.
- Prepares and supervises the preparation of the company’s response to any complaints of discrimination filed with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state agencies.
