Looking for NBEO-certified and Massachusetts-licensed optometrist to work full-time/part-time. Can discuss further if preference for an alternate schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and detect any ocular abnormalities or diseases. (30 minute exam slots)
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses or contact lenses based on individual patient needs.
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
- Provide pre-and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and referrals.
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
Requirements & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Proficient in performing comprehensive eye examinations and diagnosing eye conditions.
- Experience in prescribing corrective lenses or contact lenses.
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing procedures related to optometry services.
- Ability to provide specialized care for specific patient populations, such as pediatrics or senior care.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate patient records.
Equipment:
We have an OPTOS and an SD-OCT/ant. seg OCT, and corneal topographer for providers to use. If you’re not familiar with any, on-site training will be done during the onboarding process.
Comp: $80.00 per hour
Opt in/out health insurance (full-time only)
