As a physician assistant and officer on the U.S. Army Reserve health care team, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills that you can use in your practice. When you work in your community and serve when needed, you’ll further develop your clinical skills as you care for our Soldiers and their families.
Benefits include:
- Special Pay of $60,000, paid in three annual increments of $20,000
- Up to $50,000 in education loan repayments through the Health Professional Loan Repayment Program (HPLRP); paid in three annual installments

Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree, plus completion of an accredited physician assistant program acceptable to the Army Surgeon General
- Certification by the National Commission for Certified Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Eligibility for board certification
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (may request a waiver)
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
