About Operations Engineering Division (OED): OED is the central team that supports all Business Unit Design and Development teams, and other organizations including Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Foundry Operations, and Test. OED provides a platform for managing all process technology and PDK development for both Internal and External Foundry processes. This strong and highly qualified team (mostly MS/PhD) add strength in developing Test Technology, Foundry Operations, and Yield management. The team’s world class contributions lead to aggressive NPI strategies and continual cost and gross margin improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Foundry Technical Manager will create and drive benchmark performance across Probe/ Final Test yield, Quality, Cost optimization, Change control, New Product Introductions (NPI), etc.
Ideal candidate will be an expert in end-to-end fab processing, including deep understanding of fab modules, design/ process interactions and work x-functionally within Renesas (Design, Yield engineering Product Engineering, Quality, Reliability, Supply Chain, Sourcing, etc) in pursuit of Foundry performance excellence.
- Benchmarking and driving to industry leading Probe/ Final test yields by collaborating with foundry yield team and X-functional teams.
- Containing Quality issues within the fab walls and/ or feed forwarding Quality concerns for controlled downstream monitoring.
- Manage foundry QTR (Quarterly Technical Review) and provide feedbacks to QBR (Quarterly Business Review)
- Quality excursions and Customer RMAs:
- Partnering with Foundry Quality and x-functional teams to lead root cause identification, material disposition, corrective action identification.
- Successful corrective action fix will ensure no repeats of similar types of issues and strive to catch excursion at/ closest to the point of origin.
- Partnering with Foundry Quality and x-functional team to audit fabs towards benchmark performance.
- Zero defect/ escape mindset
- NPI execution:
- Partnering with Foundry Technology to ensure we have the right DRC checks including clear understanding of process waivers for NPI’s.
- Partnering with Design, Foundry Technology to feedback design/ process marginalities (DFM).
- Drive and lead Fab transfer projects to ensure quality, yield and process benchmark.
- Change control management:
- Partnering with Foundry Quality to assess, qualify, roll over process changes.
- Work with cross functional teams to assess and track foundry process and waivers.
- Expert Foundry process leader:
- Depth and breadth across process modules.
- Driving Continuous improvement towards better Quality, Cost, Cycle time, etc..
- End-to-end fab processing experience, including deep understanding of critical module parameters and design/ process interaction.
- Hands on experience on taking a newly introduced technology/ product to benchmark process performance.
- Others:
- Customer obsessed- partner with Supply Chain, Foundry Quality and x-functional team to ensure a Quality event doesn’t impact customer needs.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Cost efficient mindset to minimize foundry scrap
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field with 10+ years of experience in Semiconductors (Fab Integration Engineering, Technology Development).
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills. Proficiency in German is a plus.
