Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Of Counsel to join its Miami office. The candidate will specialize in product liability and complex commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have extensive legal expertise, preferably from an AmLaw 100 firm, and possess strong analytical, writing, and communication skills. This role requires managing complex cases independently, collaborating effectively with teams, and providing strategic counsel to clients in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with clients to provide legal counsel and updates on case developments.
- Supervise and mentor associates, guiding case strategy and legal research.
- Collaborate with experts and consultants to develop case theories and strategies.
- Assist in fact development, conduct depositions and manage discovery processes.
- Review, draft, and edit discovery responses, briefs, motions, and legal memoranda.
- Contribute to the development and execution of case strategies, including trial preparation.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
- Proven experience in product liability and complex commercial litigation.
- Familiarity with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry preferred.
- Strong analytical and writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Sound business judgment and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others and provide persuasive arguments.
Education and Certifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Strong academic credentials from nationally recognized institutions.
- Additional degrees or certifications such as MD, MPH, PharmD, or Epidemiology are advantageous.
- Admission to practice law in New York and Florida is required.
