Summary:
We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented Records Management Specialist to join our organization. This position will be responsible for administering the efficient and compliant management of records throughout their lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of records management principles, excellent organizational skills, and be detail oriented. This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure that records are accurately classified, stored, and disposed of in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support various operational activities of the company related to issues of environmental law and compliance.
- Support various operational activities of the company related to issues of pipeline safety law and compliance.
- Support various operational activities of the company related to issues of occupational safety law and compliance.
- Support various operational activities of the company related to issues of incident or emergency response law and compliance.
- Support various operational activities of the company related to issues of motor carrier safety law and compliance.
- Counsel in connection with incident response and emergencies.
- Ability to lead investigations, including those under Privilege, required.
- Assist with responses to government agency inquiries or proceedings related to the above, including challenges to the same via administrative proceedings.
- Provide support, in coordination with project support counsel, in contract review and negotiation of issues related to the above affecting the company's operations.
- Provide support, in coordination with dedicated litigation counsel, on litigation matters related to the above.
- Provide training to Operations and operational support personnel regarding legal issues associated with the areas of coverage above.
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Licensed in good standing to practice law in a US jurisdiction.
- 15 years of experience as counsel in a fast-paced environment (preferably corporate legal department experience with a major operator in the midstream energy space, major law firm experience or mid-level experience at an environmental regulatory agency).
- Strong pipeline safety law background required.
- Strong environmental law background and pipeline industry experience required.
- Strong state environmental regulatory experience is helpful.
- Strong occupational health & safety background required.
- Strong commercial driver and transportation law background required.
- Strong right-of-way or easement experience preferred.
- Strong writing and legal analysis skills required.
- Strong academic credentials and previous training in respected law firm, corporate legal department, or administrative agency required.
- In-house experience preferred.
- Technical acumen preferred, particularly related to remediation work, failure analyses, and detailed engineering or environmental reports.
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, and able to work as a member of a busy team, yet able to work directly with internal clients on issues within area of coverage without need for oversight.

Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to occasionally work at facilities or in the field in support of role, including where there is a need to work in PPE including fire retardant clothing, steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and wearing a personal gas monitor.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
