Physician / Pain Management Interventional Physiatrist - Providence, RI
We invite a skilled, compassionate Fellowship-trained Pain specialist to practice as an Interventional Physiatrist in the prominent, growing Spine Center of a respected teaching hospital in beautiful Providence, Rhode Island – 45 minutes from Boston! You will join a friendly team of enthusiastic, caring specialists, therapists, and nurses, including 19 Physiatrists practicing in various hospital departments, working every day to improve the health and quality of life of their patients through interventional and pain medicine. Ideal candidates will have trained in an ACGME-Accredited Pain Fellowship and achieved Board Certification. Are you still in your Fellowship? That’s fine! Physicians still completing their Fellowship are encouraged to apply early! J1 or H1b visa sponsorship may be available.
You will provide comprehensive management of spinal disorders and musculoskeletal conditions, in collaboration with a comprehensive neurosurgery department, and under the clinical leadership of a Medical Director and the Chief of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. You will participate in a range of spinal interventional procedures for pain including diagnostic and therapeutic blocks, intrathecal therapies, radio frequency ablations, and spinal cord stimulation. You will manage a leading Intrathecal Pump Program, so you must be proficient with pump refills, management, trials, and implants. You will perform inpatient consults as appropriate. Physiatrists here play a significant role in neurology, neurosurgery, stroke, and cancer care – actively working in clinical research. You will help expand the program by networking with primary care, specialists, and other practitioners within the hospital system, and at the community level.
Become part of a cutting-edge practice in an Ivy League academic medical center where, in addition to providing direct patient care and participating in research, you will teach residents (in Neurosurgery, Neurology, and Orthopedics) and medical students. You will need top communication skills to relate empathetically with patients and their families, and other members of the healthcare team.
