Are you a highly skilled technical professional with experience in live events? Do you have expertise in vectorworks, Audio Visual, Lighting, Staging, and crew management? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
Our Experiential and Production division is a leading live events provider based in New York City, specializing in creating unforgettable experiences for our clients. We are currently seeking a talented Technical Director/Project Manager to join our team and help us deliver exceptional events.
- Manage and oversee technical aspects of live events, from planning to execution.
- Utilize vectorworks software to create detailed event layouts and designs.
- Coordinate sound staging and lighting requirements for each event.
- Lead and manage the crew during load in, shows and loadouts.
- Ensure all equipment and materials are properly handled and safely loaded, ability to lift 20 pounds.
- Collaborate with clients, event planners, and vendors to understand technical requirements and develop event production plans.
- Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio, visual, and lighting equipment.
- Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful event delivery.
- Conduct site visits and technical rehearsals to identify and resolve any potential issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to provide innovative event solutions.
- Provide leadership and guidance to technical staff during events.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of experience in technical event production and project management.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks software for event layout and design.
- Knowledge of Lighting, Staging, and audio-visual equipment.
- Experience in crew management for loading shows and loadouts.
- Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Traits and Additional Qualifications
- Understanding virtual events is a plus.
- Understanding of marketing, branding and comms strategies is a plus.
- Previous experience working nationally is a plus.
- Self-directed/self-starter individual with excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, independent environment.
- Clear communicator with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization.
Job Requirements
Essential job functions performed on site in NYC at NYC Office (488 Madison Avenue) or at client sites in NYC area or nationally.
Flexible and willing to work outside normal business hours (potentially mornings, evenings & weekends) and to travel nationally (potentially as high as 1/3 of the time during busy periods).
Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
Compensation
Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000
SPORTFIVE is providing the compensation range it might pay for this position. The rate of pay offered will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
