ResponsibilitiesThe Mayo Clinic Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Rochester, Minnesota is seeking a full-time physiatrist to join our Spine Center as well as our general outpatient Musculoskeletal Clinic. Our Spine Center is a multi-disciplinary Clinic consisting of five physiatrists, three neurologists, and two chiropractors who work in close collaboration with our Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Spine, Pain Medicine, and Physical Therapy colleagues. This team treats national as well as local and regional patients for operative and nonoperative spinal conditions. Local patients are treated in tandem with their primary care providers in Family Practice and Internal Medicine.
Our multifaceted Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department is high performing in clinical practice, education, and research, propelling the field of physiatry to the next level. We have an outstanding PM&R residency program, in addition to medical school and a Doctor of Physical Therapy program, all of which recruit the brightest learners, providing the unique opportunity to teach the next generation of rehabilitation care providers.
We are seeking innovative, patient-centered candidates for this academic position which will include opportunities for research but will be predominantly focused on clinical practice and education. The candidate for these positions will be supervising PM&R residents as well as Pain Medicine, Geriatric, and Rheumatology fellows. Candidates will not perform axial injections. Candidate must be board-eligible or board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The candidate should submit a cover letter that outlines their future career goals with Mayo Clinic.
