As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly motivated engineers to deliver innovations in confidential compute and building systems to operate these at scale in the Azure fleet. Your work will help Azure customers achieve the highest levels of privacy and security by delivering technology and solutions that protect their data in use in addition to best of breed existing means in Azure for protecting data at rest and in transit.

Responsibilities
- Drives your team to work with partner teams and Program Managers to define Confidential Virtual Machine (CVM) roadmap and features.
- Coaches your team to drive project plans, release plans, and work items in coordination with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers).
- Guides your team members to design and create high quality Azure services, tools, and engineering systems to deliver CVM solutions to Azure customers.
- As a leader in confidential computing, you will collaborate with industry organizations, customers, and partners to promote the adoption of confidential computing technologies. You’ll also drive teams to establish Azure as a thought leader in this space, influencing industry standards and practices.
- Seeks new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale and shares knowledge with other engineers.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
Other Qualifications
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
- 2+ years people management experience.
- 2+ year technical engineering experience related to cloud infrastructure or service industry.
Software Engineering M4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
