A very large and successful private practice in the Midwest is hiring two general neurosurgeons to join their practice at one of their community hospitals. This group is a well-established large private neurosurgery practice with 17 Neurosurgeons, 4 Interventional Neuro-radiologists, 3 Interventional Pain Management Specialists, 1 Physiatrist, and 1 Neuropsychologist.
The new neurosurgeon will partner with two senior neurosurgeons and one new partner who will start with the program summer 2025. Both neurosurgeons there are winding down their practice with plans to retire, and the plan is to maintain a group of three in the practice. This is a busy clinical position with a case mix of 80% spine and 20% cranial. This is a great opportunity for a neurosurgeon with general neurosurgery interests or a neurosurgeon who wants to capture the cranial cases which are currently being shipped to Indianapolis. Currently an estimated 30 cranial cases per year at minimum can be captured which include subdural hematomas, skull fractures and tumor cases that show up in ED. Once these cases start staying at the hospital, the number can even grow to be more.
This is a level III trauma center with 255 beds. Call is 1:3 and PA’s will take first call. The hospital is certified as a Primary Stroke Center, and a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center. They have a majority share of the primary care market which includes 80 primary care physicians. With newly hired neurosurgeons, they will reestablish referral patterns from their internal primary care network. Currently all cranial cases and 50% of neurosurgery cases are being shipped out.

This is a private group practice with access to research and quality outcomes registry. they have a Research Director with a staff of 6 research coordinators, 2 database technicians, 1 medical editor & 1 medical illustrator. This team expands to wherever the group practices and with the interest of its physicians. The group has entered into a PSA agreement with the hospital and the position comes with a competitive guaranteed base salary plus incentives based on quality metrics. There is also an RVU based incentive. Each neurosurgeon will have their own PA or NP assigned to them who assist in clinic and surgery.
